Freezing the computer; I first noticed that I had lost about 6-months of Contact info data. Then two weeks later the computer froze while I was downloading pictures from my camera. From there I could not reboot. I had a person diagnose the bad hard drive (would not spin) and had them put a new one in my computer. Now I'm in the huge need the data recovered from the old drive.

The computer would start windows and get to the black screen just beyond the windows logo screen. The cursor would work but the computer would not continue to load. Geek Squad ran their 65$ dynastic and said they could not pull the data. Saying it was bad boot sectors.

The green power light comes on, the disk spins up, makes the usual access type noises, then nothing happens; disk keeps spinning (no strange noises. The amber access light comes on and/or goes off, depending on how/when I plug in the Firewire cable.

Unable to access the drive; an attempt was made to recover data by Hollywood Data Recovery of Los Angeles. Based on their preliminary evaluation, they advised that clean-room technology would be required. They did not expose the drive and returned the unit.
