We are unable to access the failed hard drive. Drive spins, head initiates once and then goes dead. Platter does spin all the time.

Hard disk from laptop is clicking. No recovery attempts aside from trying to power up a couple of times until noticed clicking sound; Drive unopened and has original parts. Most important data to recover: Current Thunderbird email files (large) and small Outlook PST file with current calendar.

Very loud and repetitive sound comes from my laptop's 160 gigs sata hard drive. It clicks non-stop, when computer is turned on. I turned it of after 5 minutes. Still hope on successful recovery.

The disk stopped spinning up after some coffee was spilled over a notebook. I already took the drive to data recovery place, here in LA, but the money they asked me for a repair was beyond even my budget, so I took it back, surfed the net and found your prices pretty comfortable. I need only the files and emails from my user folder under '...'.

Originally this drive was an external USB hard disk, but when it failed (could not access the data, but no abnormal sounds then) the tech from Geek Squad removed the drive from the enclose to do recovery on it. No recovery came up, but the drive is clicking now, and I know how bad it can be. I wish I never used that geek's service from Best Buy, I'm afraid now that the drive is not repairable anymore. Yet, need the data off it. Keep my fingers crossed.
