Seagate ST94811A laptop

Freezing the computer; I first noticed that I had lost about 6-months of Contact info data. Then two weeks later the computer froze while I was downloading pictures from my camera. Seagate ST94019A laptop

...It turned on, loads the BIOS and then stops, showing nothing but a blank screen. It won't boot from CD or from hard drive. I removed my hard drive from my old HP laptop and plugged it into another (functional) HP laptop to transfer all the information that way. However, when we did that it showed no data available on my hard drive.
