I used Acronis to make a clone of my hard drive. Acronis uses bit copy so the copy is an exact bootable match to the HD I copied. I tried the HD on other machines and Bios will recognize it but Windows disk utilities show a volume of zero size. I restored the information from the HD to my laptop to verify readability prior to formatting my computer. When I tried to restore from the backup HD after reformatting my laptop the drive was unreadable. I used an IDE to USB adapter to create the backup and attempt the restore. Nothing just clicking sound!

  • My appreciation is really truly. Thank you for your good job!

The drive could not be seen by the operating system Win98 BIOS. Prior to the failure we got a couple of 'Disk Write error to Drive F:' that interrupted the program data acquisition run in Labview application. The drive was removed from that computer and attached by IDE cable to external USB hard drive box and plugged into XP computer. That computer could not see the drive in BIOS either. We measured 5V and 12V with drive attached and both were OK with ripple less than 2 mv. So drive is not pulling down power supplies. The drive doesn't spin up. The drive doesn't click.

  • Dear data recovery team,
We have reviewed the file folders that you emailed to us on above titled job, and we see that you were successful in recovering the data from our failed hard disk. Thanks... Walt P.
