We placed a floppy in the computer and the screen went black. Attempts to reboot the PC failed. The BIOS no longer sees the drive. We tried the drive in another PC and the drive was not recognized by BIOS either.

Maxtor 6E030L0

Though it is a 6E030L0510213 MAXTOR DiamondMax Plus 8 30 GB Hard Drive, it is detected as a 40G N40P (Factory name). I have tried inputting the correct values for Cyl/Hds/Sec but the drive fails and is unreadable. As far as I can tell the actual data is fine and the drive is fine, it's just this error that changes the firmware settings back to the N40P values.
