IBM IC25N040ATCS04 laptop

Drive is CLICKING; NOT visible in BIOS. I removed the drive from the laptop and put it in a USB 2.5' external enclosure. It did not work :(. Replaced drive in laptop, drive now totally dead.

Failure was while laptop was stationary, as I was typing, drive clicked, machine froze, and drive began clicking repeatedly. After power cycling, drive clicked repeatedly, and won't identify when slaved to another machine.
I removed the PCB, inspected, and replaced, with no change in drive's behavior.
